about

The Fred Roth Revue is here to save you from the musical blahs. The band is known for shooting off skittering, erratic sparks that jolt the music into unexpected directions without forsaking their cheerful dedication to uplifting melodies and playful lyrics that reveal deep insight with repeated listening. Jim Knodle's trumpet, the outside guitar excursions of Merch DeGrasse and the elaborate rhythmic exchanges between drummer Scott Griggs and the band's singer, songwriter, bass player and namesake Fred Roth, have been keeping Seattle audiences on their toes since the band's debut ten years ago. Fred Not Amused preserves the band's propulsive on-stage sound, a blend of lively garage band soul, sharp pop melodies and engaging, nursery rhyme-like lyrics.

Track Name: Tomorrow
See the lovely stars outside, I don't think they're pretty
See the little girl inside, I think she smells
See the little boy inside, i think he's fat
When the little girl and boy look at the stars, all they see is
Is tomorrow
Track Name: Lies I Told Myself
I thought I was really smart but I was stupid from the start
Putting all my faith in you
Even stole my girlfriend too

Lies I told my, lies I told my, lies I told myself
Lies I told my, lies I told my, lies I told myself

I'm older now and I'm alright, or so I thought until last night
Waking up in sudden fear, I've been dead for 20 years

Lies I told my, lies I told my, lies I told myself
Lies I told my, lies I told my, lies I told myself

I thought I was really smart but I was stupid from the start
Putting all my faith in you
Even stole my girlfriend too

I've been dead for 20 years

Lies I told my, lies I told my, lies I told myself
Lies I told my, lies I told my, lies I told myself
Lies I told my, lies I told my, lies I told myself
Lies I told my, lies I told my, lies I told myself
Track Name: Fred Not Amused
There's something on my mind, I can't tell you what it is
You'll think I'm crazy, that's right
Keep it to yourself, everything is just fine
Fred is not amused, Fred is not amused
Fred is not amused, Fred is not amused
Last night, I had a dream, I ate a Godzilla sandwich
You'll start to panic, that's right
You don't have to trip, everything is just fine
Fred is not amused, Fred is not amused
Fred is not amused, Fred is not amused
You don't have to trip, everything is just fine
Fred is not amused, Fred is not amused
Fred is not amused, Fred is not amused
Fred is not amused, Fred is not amused
Fred is not amused, Fred is not amused
You don't have to trip, everything is fine
Track Name: Deep Deep Breath
Rain begins to slow down I stand, but I can't seem to move
Weather changes my life, full of doubt
Unsure about the world, but I'm sure that will change yeah
Rain begins to slow down yeah,
Ask yourself, will you do, no one else
Take a deep, deep breath and walk yeah
Rain begins to slow down I stand, now I start to move
Forced out of my place, that's impossible
Unsure about the world, but I'm sure that will change yeah
Rain begins to slow down yeah
Ask yourself, will you do, no one else
Take a deep, deep breath and walk yeah
I keep on walking yeah
I keep on walking yeah
Track Name: OK Hotel
OK Hotel I miss you, OK Hotel I miss you
OK Hotel I miss you, OK Hotel I miss you
Two one two Alaskan way, an emerald city jewel
Whose floors filed to anticipate, Seattle sound, the old school
OK Hotel I miss you, OK Hotel I miss you
OK Hotel I miss you, OK Hotel I miss you
From the cafe to the bar, unfamiliar faces
Soon to be famous and stories told
Then the rumble came, and the moshing stopped
The music lives in the days of old
From the cafe to the bar, unfamiliar faces
Soon to be famous and stories told
Then the rumble came, and the moshing stopped
The music lives in the days of old
From the cafe to the bar, unfamiliar faces
Soon to be famous and stories told
Then the rumble came, and the moshing stopped
The music lives in the days of old
From the cafe to the bar, unfamiliar faces
Soon to be famous and stories told
Then the rumble came, and the moshing stopped
The music lives in the days of old
Track Name: Red Vespa
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Riding on my red, I'm a Vespa champion
Pick up my prize, get in the movies
Pick up my prize, get in the movies
I'm so famous, every body look at me, that's right
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
My savings from the bank, now the junk yard
A seventy-eight, don't need the house
Don't need a car, just need a dream
Just one dream, and wheels that work
Pick up my prize, get in the movies
I'm so famous, every body look at me, that's right
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
And then the money came, and then the money went
What's all that fuss, keep a rolling by
And then the money came, and then the money went
What's all that fuss, keep a rolling by
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Da do, da do, da do, da do, da do, da do do
Track Name: I Think You Died
I think you died, right before my eyes
I tried to cry, all my tears have dried
Can you please come back, and lift me up again
Can you please come back, and lift me up
I think you died, right before my eyes
I tried to cry, all my tears have dried
Can you please come back, and lift me up again
Can you please come back, and lift me up
Cried, died, cried, died
Track Name: Hot Guy
I had a friend, a friend named Doug
He played a game called Hot Guy
It's played with cards, have you heard of it
It's easy to play if you try
Now count your cards, and play Hot Guy
Hot does it feel to have a good time
I wish you could play just like a kid
Remember, keep on trying
Playing like a kid, gonna play some Hot Guy
Acting like a kid, it's something you should try
Playing like a kid, gonna play some hot guy
Playing like a kid it's easy if you try
